About Studio412 Imagery
I am a mother to 4 sweet little boys, a wife to my super supportive husband and passionate birth junky. I specialize in birth photography, but also do lifestyle maternity and newborn photography. I am inspired by everything around me, especially my boys. I have watched them grow from gorgeous, squishy little newborns into fun, unique little boys. My home is filled with images of them growing and I treasure each and every one of those photographs. Looking back at those photos brings so much joy to not only my husband and I, but now our children get to look back and see when they were in my belly or the first time I saw them. That is why it is such a blessing for me to be able to capture these precious and short-lived moments for other families.
As a photographer I have dabbled in all different types of subjects, but just fell in love with the raw beauty and photojournalistic, storytelling style of birth photography. I have been photographing professionally for 5 years and photographing births for 3 years now. Everything from hospital to birth center to homebirth and each birth is more magical and awe inspiring than the last.
I am also an active advocate for women’s birthing rights and breastfeeding support and education. I firmly believe that each and every woman should have the birth she wants. Whether it’s in a hospital or at home, medicated or natural, it should be how she wants it as long as there are not major complications. Having delivered 4 children myself and having 4 very different birth experiences, I wished so many times that I had been fully informed before giving birth. Birth is such a beautiful, empowering experience and an incredibly meaningful time in every woman’s life, she should be able to listen to her body and have the labor and delivery of her dreams. I’m also heavily involved in breastfeeding support and education. The lack of support, education and motivation for women that truly want to breastfeed is causing them to feel they are unable or somehow “failed”. These are all things that I have experienced, and now with my third and fourth children, I have experienced what it is to successfully breastfeed for over 3 years and still going. This has fueled my passion to provide as much information and support to every mommy-to-be and new mom that I meet. I am simply passionate about informing and empowering women to have the experiences that they desire. Along these same lines, I also provide breastfeeding photography services to new and nursing moms.
In addition to photography I also offer labor and postpartum doula services and placenta encapsulation.
