You may recall this post regarding the Improving Birth rallies in South Carolina. Last week we rallied in Columbia, SC on Labor Day at the State House and in Myrtle Beach, SC on September 6th at The Market Common. Both rallies were awesome, drawing mothers, fathers, children, doulas, midwives and other awesome birth supporters out into the heat (and rain) to encourage families to demand better childbirth options for the women of South Carolina. We had media coverage, signs and an amazing message: It’s not about home vs hospital, medicated vs unmedicated, or midwives vs OBs, it’s about evidence based, family centered, respectful care for women and babies.

A HUGE thanks to the rally coordinators, Nicole Lavallee (Columbia) and Katie Reitman (Myrtle Beach) for taking time out of their hectic schedules to stand up for the rights of the women and babies of South Carolina!
